How to reach my office
The fastest way to get an answer is to call. I would rather spend ten minutes on the phone working out what you are dealing with than exchange messages for two days while a deadline runs.
When you call, it helps to have the paperwork you were given at release in front of you. The notice of suspension carries the date the 15 day clock started, and the bond paperwork shows what conditions were set. If you do not have either, call anyway. Not having the paperwork is common and it is not a reason to wait.
If your case involved a blood draw you may not have been given a notice at all. In those cases the Department of Public Safety mails it once results come back, and the deadline runs 20 days from the date of mailing. That letter is easy to miss, particularly if you have moved.

What happens when you call
No script, no qualifying questionnaire, and nobody trying to book you before you know what you are dealing with.
The initial conversation starts with the date and location of the stop, the agency involved, whether a breath or blood specimen was requested, and any release conditions already in place. The citation, release papers and any specimen or warrant paperwork are useful if they are available, but a missing document should not prevent the call. Those details identify what needs attention first and which records should be preserved.

Not an answering service, not an intake coordinator. I take DWI cases and nothing else, so the person asking about your stop is the person who would handle the case.
What I will ask
Where you were stopped, what the officer said the reason was, whether you were asked to do roadside tests, and whether a breath or blood sample was taken. Those four answers tell me most of what I need early on.
What you will leave with
What you are charged with, what the realistic exposure is, which courthouse it goes to, and what has to happen in the next fifteen days. Even if you never call me again.

Does the consultation cost anything?
No. There is no charge for the call and no obligation afterward.
What if I was arrested a few days ago?
Then call today rather than tomorrow. The request to contest your license suspension is due within 15 days of the notice you were given at arrest, and that window closes regardless of what is happening with the criminal case.
What if I do not have my paperwork?
Call anyway. Most of what I need in a first conversation is what you remember about the stop. The documents can be tracked down afterward.
Do you handle cases outside Austin?
Yes. I take cases across Travis, Williamson and Hays counties, which covers Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda and the surrounding cities.
Can you tell me what will happen to my case?
Not on a first call, and be careful of anyone who says otherwise. What I can do is tell you what you are charged with, what the range of exposure is, and what the evidence review will look at. What the case does after that depends on what that review finds.
